UCSD Stuart Collection Do Ho Suh ‘Falling Star’

Collaborating with the artist Do Ho Suh on a site installation for the Stuart Collection, our team envisioned a unique piece of artwork that would explore the notion of home and relocation – acknowledging the transient nature of the student body and their varied origins. This concept that was brought to life by creating a New England cottage garden, a theme representing a far away “home.” Located on the 7th floor roof of the Jacobs Engineering building on the campus of UCSD, the landscape uses plants that are drought-, salt- and wind-tolerant, low-maintenance and seasonally-changing – common traits found in East Coast gardens.
