UC Irvine’s mission ‘to become a national model for integrative health’ is the guidepost for this transformative project. Our design-build team’s design builds on the relationship between health and physical space to streamline operations; enrich the student, staff and patient experience; and improve outcomes for learning and healthcare delivery.

Providing opportunities for connection to the outdoors and nature is a key feature of the project. The landscape design creates a central ‘courtyard’ with a series of flexible outdoor spaces. The outdoor space allows for a variety of considerations including options for sun and shade, protection from wind and noise, and quiet, active, and social areas to provide users a variety of ways to engage with the outdoors.
