              Pico Branch Public Library
In addition to the adjacent Virginia Avenue Park completed in 2006, Spurlock also provided landscape architectural services for Pico Library, a state of the art public library branch within the park. The site design focuses on bolstering the community identity and providing a range of venues for the local communities to have convenient access to educational and cultural programs. Programming for the site includes a terraced amphitheater, picnic patio, entry plaza and view gardens. Another key site element was preserving the existing mature trees. This required careful design and detailing so as not to disturb their established root systems.
