Cardiff Elementary School
The reconstruction of Cardiff School was made possible by Measure GG, a $22 million bond, approved in 2016 for the primary purpose of rebuilding the Cardiff Elementary School and grounds. The project included the replacement of existing older classrooms, multi-purpose room, food service, and other miscellaneous support spaces. The scope of work involved the demolition of approximately 33,000 gross square feet of existing buildings and the construction of approximately 35,000 gross square fee.
The previous layout of the school presented many security concerns and maintenance issues. Today, the 7.4-acre grounds reveals a fresh new campus built to the highest safety standards and designed to maximize the students’ learning environment. Site grading and improvements include a new parking lot and drop off, reconstruction of existing hardcourts, renovated sports fields, playgrounds and play equipment, planting, hardscape, lunch court, shade structures, entry trellis, perimeter fencing / gates and an outdoor assembly area.
