Montevalle Community Park

This highly popular community park draws from the Montevalle region’s ranching and farming history for its organizational framework and character. The siting of the building complex reflects the orthogonal and clustered organization of historic farm homes, yards, and outbuildings. An internal road meanders through the site providing access to the Park’s various areas and activities. Similar to agricultural fields, the sports courts, fields and playgrounds are responsive to the surrounding topography. The planting design reinforces these concepts and creates a unifying framework through groves of trees, tree-lined roads, drainage swales and windbreaks.
