UCSD Tata Hall for the Sciences

The new Tata Hall for the Sciences laboratory building supports biological and physical sciences research and education, one of the most sought after undergraduate majors at UCSD. The 7-story, state-of-the-art science building, designed by CO Architects and built by McCarthy Building Cos, features undergraduate teaching laboratories and innovative research laboratories.

The site design addresses building orientation, relationship to adjacent buildings, exterior expression, locations of major building entries, pedestrian and service circulation, and relationship to main campus roadways and parking. The resulting landscape design compliments the architecture by creating a dynamic building approach and pedestrian-scaled spaces that feature durable and recycled materials and plants that reflect the campus's coastal and garden landscapes.
